Nemak USA is segment of Nemak Americas, comprising of a corporate office just outside of Detroit, Michigan, and manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Our close proximity to North American customers lends itself well to our early involvement with product design, engineering, and testing.
Our sales, advanced engineering, and product development teams work closely with our operations to produce primarily High Pressure Die Cast components to deliver customized products. Employees have ample opportunities to work in different functions, processes, and even locations within Nemak Americas due to our focus on employee training and continued education. Nemak USA has achieved certification as a Top Employer since 2021.
Nemak ALA is an operational hub that consists of three manufacturing facilities that focus on casting, machining and assembly, and secondary processes for powertrain, e-mobility, and structural chassis aluminum-cast components. The facility opened in 1999 and currently employs over 700 employees.
Sylacauga is located in the southernmost part of Talladega County in central Alabama, bisected by U.S. Highway 280 and Alabama Highway 21. It encompasses approximately 20 square miles and borders the Talladega National Forest and the Appalachian Foothills of northeastern Alabama. Right down the road from Nemak is access to the Pinhoti Trail, an 11-mile path for seasoned hikers that is part of the Appalachian Trail. The Nemak Hub is centrally located between the University of Alabama and Auburn University—a sweet spot for football fans. Nearby Birmingham is home to world-class medical research, a celebrated food and arts scene, and the Birmingham Civil Rights Movement. Only 44 miles east of the city, Sylacauga offers small-town charm and countless communities in between where our employees live, learn, and play. Only a four-hour drive to the north reaches the Tennessee mountains and a four-hour drive to the south reaches the Gulf of Mexico coast beaches, central Alabama offers access to a variety of activities, including 21 state parks.
Nemak ALA is deeply involved in the local community, namely the Sylacauga City School Foundation to enrich the quality of education for students by providing financial support to programs and teachers. We also sponsor Teacher Appreciation Day at local community schools and ACFS Food Drive “Collection of Can and Dry Goods for Alabama Childhood Food Solutions.” Our leaders are immersed in the local economy and the Chamber of Commerce and local initiatives to grow the community for industry.
